25 Squadron was formed on 25th September 1915. In the 90 years that have elapsed
since its formation 25 Squadron has been a front line squadron of
the Royal Air Force for a total of 89 years and 10 days. 25 Squadron is one of
the RAF's most senior squadrons. Celebrations took place from the 23rd to 25th September, 2005 weekend with Association members attended the Squadron's 90th Anniversary dining in at the Officers Mess, RAF Leeming. Attending the dining in were current members of 25 Squadron, members of the Association and guests. Also attending were several of the Squadron's previous commanding officers. 25 Squadron has a long and distinguished history illustrated by the presence of the Association's senior member, John Brisley. John joined the RAF as an Apprentice and the reviewing officer at his passing out parade was none other than Lord Trenchard.
